Ezekiel Elliott Re-Signs with Dallas Cowboys
Former NFL rushing leader back in familiar territory after one season in New England
Just one season away was enough for Ezekiel Elliott and the Dallas Cowboys to reunite. The two sides have agreed to terms on a new contract, pending a physical, that will bring the multi-time Pro Bowl running back back to the Lone Star State. Staff writer Michael Gehlken contributed to this report.
Elliott, who turns 29 in July, finished the 2023 season with 642 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 184 carries—a career-low 3.5 yards per carry—for the New England Patriots. The Cowboys released Elliott last offseason after seven seasons in Dallas, where he led the NFL in rushing twice and helped the team reach the playoffs five times.
