Ezekiel Elliott Signs with the Dallas Cowboys
Patriots Running Back Departs After One Season
Elliott Led Patriots in Rushing Yards in 2023
Two-time All-Pro running back Ezekiel Elliott has reportedly agreed to a contract with the Dallas Cowboys.
Elliott spent the 2023 season with the New England Patriots, who he signed with as a free agent after being released by the Cowboys. In New England, Elliott rushed for 642 yards and three touchdowns on 184 carries.
Despite leading the Patriots in rushing yards, Elliott is now set to return to Dallas.
Elliott's departure from New England comes after the Patriots made a number of moves to bolster their running back depth chart. The team signed veteran running back Damien Harris in free agency and drafted running back Tyjae Spears in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
With Elliott now gone, the Patriots will likely turn to Harris and Spears to lead their backfield in 2023.
